1 Egg, well beaten
1cBran
2cWhite flour
1/2cSugar
1cSour milk
2tbMelted shortening
1/2cRaisins
1/4cMolasses
1/4tsBaking soda
1tsSalt
3tsBaking powder

Combine molasses, shortening, sugar, bran, raisins, egg, and milk. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Combine with the first mixture. Beat well. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (375ø F) 1 hour. 1 loaf. Annebel Beasley, Johnson City, TN.
